According to the protocols from the district election commissions of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on December 4, 2016, 17 million 951 thousand 667 of 20 million 461 805 voters participated in the voting. This represents 87.73% of the total number of voters included in the list.

According to the results of the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 421,555 voters or 2.35% of the total number of voters casting their votes in favor of Sarvar Sadullaevich Atamurotov voted for Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyayev. 88.61% voted, 669,187 voters or 3.73% voted for Khatamjon Abdurakhmanovich Ketmonov, and 619,972 voters or 3.46% voted for Narimon Majitovich Umarov.

Thus, on December 4, 2016, the candidate for the Entrepreneurs and Businessmen’s Movement - Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoev won the presidential elections of December 4, 2016.

In accordance with Articles 90, 117 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Articles 14, 35, 36 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan" the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Miromonovich decided to declare Mirziyoev elected as President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The process of preparing and holding the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan includes five international organizations - the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the World Association of Electoral Bodies and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. and the fact that some 600 observers from 46 African countries have made it clear that the political campaign is open and transparent in line with democratic requirements. More than 37,000 observers from political parties also actively participated in monitoring the election process.

The media played an important role in ensuring transparency and openness of the elections. The presidential elections will be covered by 615 national and 272 foreign media, including 315 foreign and national internet publications. The Republican Press Center for the coverage of the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the press centers of the district election commissions have conducted more than 180 press conferences and online briefings with the participation of more than 1,400 domestic and foreign journalists. More than 22,700 articles and information materials related to the preparation and conduct of elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan have been published and broadcasted.
