On October 25, 2019, the next meeting of the CEC was held. The event was attended by the members of CEC, representatives of political parties and mass media.
The agenda included such issues as modification of instruction “On financing preparatory and conduct elections to Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, regional, sub-regional and city Kengashes of people’s deputies as well as the procedure for the use of funds” and holding accreditation to the representatives of mass media.
From the side of CEC is continuing accreditation of domestic and foreign journalists, which will cover the election campaign for elections to parliament and regional, sub-regional and city Kengashes of people's deputies. Over 200 journalists and technical staff more than 20 Mass Media Organizations have contacted the CEC until today.
Based on this, at the event accreditation issue of media representatives was considered. In accordance with the provision on the procedure for accrediting media representatives during the election campaign, a number of media representatives who applied for accreditation to the CEC have already been given mandates.
During the meeting, a presentation of the new version of the website (election.uz) of the Central Election Commission was presented.
The design of the site is completely updated. In order to ensure that users do not have difficulties in finding information, sections are organized that incorporate information about the administration and members of the commission, regulatory documents, legislation, decisions of the CEC, news, international cooperation, reminders, for every detail that may be of interest media representative. Information is posted in Uzbek (Latin and Cyrillic), as well as in English and Russian languages.
Moreover, it will be possible to obtain information about each election commission, in the section of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent. This will help establish a link between ministries and departments, the media and citizens with all election commissions. The site has created special opportunities for people with low vision.
In addition, users can familiarize with the results of previous elections and referendums.
