Meeting of the chairman of the CEC in the embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation

As previously reported, the Uzbek delegation left for Moscow to participate in the elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, which will be held on September 17-19.

Within the framework of the visit on September 16, the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Zayniddin Nizomkhodjaev met with the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Russia Ella Pamfilova.

During the meeting, E. Pamfilova informed about the political parties participating in the elections, new standards of the election campaign in Russia, holding elections in a pandemic, video surveillance at polling stations, the “Mobile Voter” mechanism and other issues.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan highly appreciated the high level of preparation of the election commissions, the measures taken to inform the participants in the electoral process.

At the same time, information was provided on the upcoming Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan in October this year, polling stations were organized for citizens of Uzbekistan in foreign countries, including Russia. In turn, E. Pamfilova noted that she was ready to provide practical assistance in holding Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the territory of the Russian Federation.

During the conversation, Z. Nizomkhodjaev invited the chairman of the Central Election Commission of Russia to take part as an international observer in the upcoming presidential elections in Uzbekistan.

Recall that the Uzbek delegation, including the Commonwealth of Independent States, the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, will observe the elections as part of observer missions.
