Ladies and Gentlemen!

 

Voting for the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan ended today at 20.00 at all polling stations of the country.

Voting is conducted at polling stations established at the representations of the Republic of Uzbekistan in some countries of Europe and the United States of America.

According to preliminary data, 16,036,914 people or 80.8% participated in the elections.

We will announce the number of our compatriots who voted abroad tomorrow.

As you know, in accordance with Article 96 of the Election Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, elections are considered valid if at least 33% of voters took part in them.

This means, according to the Election Code, the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan are considered valid and valid.

Today's presidential elections are a great historic achievement for our people.

 

This is a confirmation of the growing political and legal consciousness, culture and political activity of the people of Uzbekistan, which has entered a new, democratic stage of development, another manifestation of the unity and solidarity of our people. It is also a practical manifestation of the fact that the multinational people of Uzbekistan support the domestic and foreign policy pursued by our state and the radical democratic reforms being carried out.

On behalf of the Central Election Commission, we sincerely congratulate our people on the successful election of the President of our country!

 

Dear conference participants!

Voters, local and international observers and journalists who took direct part in the elections, repeatedly noted that the presidential elections in Uzbekistan were held in accordance with the national electoral legislation, generally recognized democratic principles such as openness and transparency.

The election process was broadcast online using 414 video cameras installed at 207 polling stations in regions and cities of the country.

In addition, journalists from thousands of polling stations regularly broadcast live TV and radio reports, photo reports and interviews. The election process was shown around the world through social networks, websites.

The voting process was widely covered by 1,672 accredited local and foreign media outlets.

The elections were directly observed by about a thousand international observers from about twenty international organizations, from about fifty countries.

In addition, 64,450 local observers from political parties that nominated their candidates for President and citizens' self-government bodies took part in the elections.

Taking this opportunity, first of all, on behalf of the Central Election Commission, I express my sincere gratitude to our voters, local and international observers, the media, almost 143 thousand members of election commissions at all levels.

Counting of votes for candidates of political parties for President continues at polling stations.

The preliminary results of the presidential elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan will be announced at a press conference tomorrow, October 25, at 16:00.
