The delegation of the CEC of Uzbekistan participates in the events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the CEC of Moldova

These days the Central Election Commission of Moldova is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its permanent operations.

The CEC of Moldova has been operating as a permanent election management body since the adoption of the Electoral Code on November 21, 1997. The Code combined all legislation relating to presidential, parliamentary, and local elections and all electoral procedures. 

The delegation of the CEC of the Republic of Uzbekistan, consisting of Deputy Chairman Bakhrom Kuchkarov and member of the Commission Adkham Ibodullayev, joined the events on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the CEC of Moldova.

In connection with the anniversary, the CEC of Moldova organized several events.

On November 21, an official ceremony was held at the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau, and a thematic exhibition was organized.

On November 22, the CEC of Moldova hosted International Conference: Electoral Reform – a pillar strengthening the participatory democracy. Representatives of election management bodies of Moldova, Romania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, India, and Mexico, as well as international organizations such as the Council of Europe, OSCE ODIHR, A-WEB, IFES, and experts of the international and national nongovernmental sector attended the Conference.

The delegation of Uzbekistan made a presentation on the role of the CEC of Uzbekistan in electoral reforms.
