The meeting agenda included the formation of election districts for the presidential election, registration of authorized representatives of political parties, and amendments and additions to some resolutions of the Central Election Commission.
In accordance with the Election Code and the Calendar plan for the conduct of the early election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved by the CEC resolution of May 10, 2023, a decision was taken to establish 14 election districts within the boundaries of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the regions and the city of Tashkent.
Under Article 34 of the Election Code, a political party that has nominated presidential candidates has the right to appoint an authorized representative to attend election commission meetings, deposit documents, verify the accuracy of signature lists, and count votes at the polling station.
Following this, the meeting of the CEC considered the relevant documents of the authorized representatives recommended by the leaders of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen – Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Milliy Tiklanish Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Adolat Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Ecological Party of Uzbekistan and People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, to register the proxies and issue them certificates (mandates).
The meeting also considered and approved the amendments and additions to some resolutions of the CEC based on amendments and additions to the Election Code introduced by the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan on May 6, 2023.
In particular, eight resolutions of the Central Election Commission were amended, ensuring the right to vote of prisoners and incapacitated persons, clarifying the requirements for members of election commissions, and the work of precinct election commissions with the Single Electronic Voter Register.
The resolutions adopted at the meeting will be posted on the official website of the Central Election Commission.
