A training session was organized for the members of District Commissions on how to conduct the pre-term presidential elections

On May 22 this year, on the initiative of the Central Election Commission, a training session was organized for the members of the District Election Commissions on the main tasks of the District Election Commissions in the preparation and conduct of the elections on the basis of the Concept for Organizing the Professional Development of the Commission Members for the Pre-term Presidential Elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The training organized by the members of the Central Election Commission and an expert group of professors and teachers from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent State University of Law and the Law Enforcement Academy was attended by 42 members, including Chairpersons, Deputy Chairpersons and Secretaries of the District Commissions for presidential elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The aim of the training was to improve the qualifications of the members of the District Election Commissions with regard to the most important tasks in the preparation and holding of elections and the organization of electoral processes in accordance with generally accepted international electoral standards and the requirements of the Election Code.

The training seminar covered the constitutional and legal bases for organizing and holding the presidential elections in Uzbekistan, as well as the regulations of the Central Election Commission, the specifics of the election program, the tasks of the District Election Commissions in compiling lists of voters and working with them, the organization of early voting, as well as topics such as the preparation of election day, the interaction between the District Election Commission and participants in the electoral process, and the financing procedure.

The selection of buildings for the election districts and precincts for the presidential elections, as well as the requirements for the equipment of the polling stations, were also discussed in practical sessions.

At the end of the training, which consisted of a theoretical and a practical part, certificates were presented to the participants.
