On June 14, 2023, at a meeting of the Central Election Commission on the occasion of the early presidential elections, the following issues were discussed: guaranteeing the right to vote of persons with disabilities; appeals received by the Central Election Commission during the election preparations; accreditation of observers from international organizations and media representatives participating in the presidential elections; information from the chairpersons of some District Election Commissions on the election preparations and their administration.

The meeting was attended by authorized representatives of political parties and representatives of non-governmental non-profit organizations in the field of disability.

In order to ensure the right of persons with disabilities to vote, the meeting adopted an alphabetical model stencil with Braille for filling in the ballot paper for the presidential elections in Uzbekistan, as well as measures to equip each polling station with these stencils.

According to the agenda, the appeals of individuals and legal entities received by the Central Election Commission from June 6 to 13 of this year were considered and the relevant decisions were adopted.

The meeting also discussed the accreditation of international observers and media representatives. According to the communication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, one representative of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission was accredited.

In addition, 106 representatives of local media and 42 representatives of foreign media were accredited. The total number of accredited local and foreign media representatives is 499.

The chairpersons of the 7th Samarkand, 11th Ferghana, and 12th Khorezm District Election Commissions briefed on the ongoing work during the meeting on the preparation and conduct of the early presidential elections at a high organizational level.
