Today, July 9, in the afternoon, the Central Election Commission held a meeting with observers from international organizations and foreign countries who came to our country to observe the preparations for the early presidential elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the conduct of the elections.

The CEC was visited by delegations led by Ambassador Wang Kaiwen of the People's Republic of China, Deputy Chairperson of the Russian Federation CEC, Nikolay Bulayev, Chairperson of the CEC of Turkmenistan, Gulmurad Muradov, and Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Zhang Min.

The meeting reported that the preparation and conduct of presidential elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan is in accordance with the law and democratic principles.

In particular, the observers noted that the Central Election Commission prepared the electoral process at a high level and in accordance with international standards, and that the election commissions carried out their activities in accordance with the electoral legislation. It was noted that the elections were conducted coherently; voters went to the polls in high spirits and were active.

Wang Kaiwen, Ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China:

- Today we visited seven polling stations. We talked to voters and members of the election commission. I can say with conviction that the Central Election Commission has prepared for these elections at a high level. It is clear that the Central Election Commission has worked very hard to prepare for this major political event in such a short time. The mood of the voters is good. They are very active. We have noticed that young people in particular are active at the polling stations.

Nikolay Bulaev, Deputy Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation:

- We have followed several election campaigns in Uzbekistan. I would like to emphasize that citizen participation in these elections is high. The Central Election Commission has conducted its work at a high level and in accordance with international standards. Voters can cast their ballots freely. In the places we visited, people with disabilities also had all the amenities. A Single Electronic List of Voters will help make the electoral process more transparent and fair. During our meetings in Samarkand, it became clear that the Central Election Commission has provided quality training to the members of the commissions at all levels. They know the requirements of electoral legislation and approach their work responsibly.

Zhang Min, Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization:

- Our observation began a few days ago. We were there for the opening of the polling stations in the morning. We made sure that everything was proceeding in accordance with the law. Our mission was divided into 6 groups, and we observed voting in several dozen polling stations. Personally, I was happy to see parents bringing their underage children to the polling stations. This is because it is nice to see how interesting it is for children to come to the polling station and receive information about the voting procedure and process. The lively participation of voters in the elections shows that the Central Election Commission has done extensive work to inform the population about the electoral process.
