THE RIGHT TO VOTE AND TO BE ELECTED

In accordance with Article 128 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan:

“Citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan shall have the right to ballot and to be elected to representative bodies of state power. Each voter shall have one vote. The right to vote, equality and freedom of expression shall be guaranteed by law.

Elections in Uzbekistan shall be held on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot.

Citizens of Uzbekistan who have reached the age of 18 on Election Day shall have the right to vote.

Citizens who have been declared legally incapable by a court, as well as citizens who have been imprisoned for serious and particularly grave crimes, may be deprived of the right to vote only in accordance with the law and on the basis of a court decision. In all other cases, direct or indirect restrictions on citizens' right to vote shall be inadmissible”.

The early presidential elections will be held on July 9 of the current year.
