On November 15, 2019, the next expanded regular meeting of the Central Election Commission was held.
On November 14, 2019, a regular meeting of the CEC was held. The event was attended by the members of the Central Election Commission, representatives of political parties and mass media.
In Tashkent, a circle of the training seminars was started for participants of the election process as part of the Plan of practical measures for the implementation of project activities of the UNDP Office in Uzbekistan in conjunction with the CEC, aimed at providing assistance for the period of the 2019 election campaign.
On November 12, 2019, a regular meeting of the CEC was held. It was attended by the members of the Central Election Commission, political parties, and mass media. The agenda included several issues as: information from the hokim of the Tashkent city and the chairman of the election commission of the Tashkent city on preparatory work for the elections, issues of equipping polling stations with communications, as well as information from the Ministry for the development of information technologies and communications on the formation of the SELV (Single Electronic List of Voters).
On November 9, 2019, in accordance with the Article 72 of the Election Code of Uzbekistan, by the head of the “Adolat” SDP of Uzbekistan and the Liberal-Democratic party of Uzbekistan applied to the Central Election Commission a request to register candidates for deputies to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
On November 8, 2019, in accordance with the Article 72 of the Election Code of Uzbekistan, by the head of the “Milliy Tiklanish” DP and Ecologic party of Uzbekistan applied to the Central Election Commission a request to register candidates for deputies to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
On November 8 of this year, the regular meeting of the Central Election Commission took place at the international press center, the agenda included the several issues as the organization of the activities of polling stations which opened in the Russian Federation, the approval of samples of candidates certificates for deputies to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, regional, district and city kengashes of people’s deputies and accreditation of media representatives. In addition, report was received on the readiness of the Samarkand regional department of the international press center for the election process.
On November 6, 2019, a training seminar was organized at the International Press Center of the Central Election Commission for members of the district election commissions on the role of observers in the election process.
Non-governmental non-commercial organizations (NGOs) play a very important creative role in the formation of modern civil society in Uzbekistan, establishment of democracy and protection of citizens' rights and freedoms. Thus, the legal framework for active participation and effective use of the right of public control was established not only for representatives of political parties and responsible state bodies, but also representatives of citizens’ self-government bodies, NGOs and other civil society institutions.
