On October 3, 2020, the Chairman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of the Kyrgyz Republic N. Shayldabekova met with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan M. Abdusalomov, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Kyrgyz Republic H. Mirzakhidov.

During the meeting, N. Shayldabekova noted the peculiarities of these parliamentary elections in a difficult epidemiological situation.

“We hope that we will hold safe elections for the health of our citizens, and at the same time adhere to all standards of democratic, free elections, ensure the protection of citizens' voting rights. The Kyrgyz government is providing significant assistance in this regard, and a headquarters has been set up to assist election commissions in preparing for and conducting elections. This headquarters, together with the CEC, has developed the necessary epidemiological security algorithms at all stages of the election, taking into account the specifics of each stage, "said Nurjan Shayldabekova. 

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of international election practice, as well as strengthening the responsibility for corruption and violations during the election campaign in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the head of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic, in the process of improving the legislation and increasing inclusion, measures have been taken to ensure the participation of women in parliamentary elections and the implementation of guarantees of suffrage for persons with disabilities.
