A regular meeting of the Central Election Commission took place on February 5. It was attended by members and staff of the CEC.  Organizational issues were on the agenda of the meeting. 

The members of the CEC considered the issue of dismissing Mirzo-Ulugbek Elchievich Abdusalomov from the post of Сhairman of the CEC of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with his election as Сhairman Judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In accordance with Articles 12 and 16 of the Election Code, M. Abdusalomov was relieved of his position as Chairman of the CEC.

The member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nizamkhodjaev Zayniddin Makhamatovich was excluded from the list of members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan in relation to his election as a member of the CEC and early termination of his powers as a deputy of the Kibray District Kengash of People's Deputies. In accordance with Articles 12 and 16 of the Election Code and the proposal of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a member of the CEC of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nizamkhodjaev Zayniddin Makhamatovich was elected as a Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In connection with the appointment of the Deputy Chairman of the CEC Mahmud Shukhratovich Istamov to the post of the Prosecutor of the Bukhara region, a member of the CEC of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhrom Tulkinovich Kuchkarov was elected to the post of Deputy Chairman of the CEC.

Also, at the meeting, a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Feruza Farhodovna Eshmatova was excluded from the list of members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with her election to the post of Commissioner of the Oliy Majlis for human rights (Ombudsman) and a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdukodir Hamidovich Toshkulov was also excluded from the list of members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis in connection with with his appointment of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Other issues included in the powers of the Central Election Commission were considered at the meeting.
