It should be noted that, in accordance with Articles 14, 16, 63 of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Resolution of the Central Election Commission of April 14, 2021 "On approval of the regulation on the procedure for collecting signatures in support of the candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan", The Central Election Commission has asked the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen - Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan "Milliy Tiklanish" and the Social Democratic Party of Uzbekistan "Adolat" to participate in the presidential election. After reviewing the documents, he allowed these parties to participate in the October 24, 2021 elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Now political parties can apply to the Central Election Commission to register a candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. They include the decision of the supreme body of the political party to nominate a candidate for the presidency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the meeting of the supreme body of the political party to nominate a candidate for the presidency of the Republic of Uzbekistan. a statement of party affiliation, a candidate's statement of consent to vote for his or her candidate, and signature sheets in support of the candidate. These signature sheets must be signed by at least one percent of the total number of voters in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Members of the Central Election Commission also considered the issue of approving the composition of district election commissions for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the Electoral Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, candidates for district election commissions were recommended to the Central Election Commission by the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city Councils of people's Deputies within three days after the formation of constituencies. According to the legislation, the number of members of the district election commission can be up to 21 people.
At the meeting, the candidates nominated to all district election commissions were considered and approved.
Currently, the number of members of election commissions in 14 constituencies is 266 people. Of these, 104 are women (39%) and 14 are people with disabilities (5%). In terms of specialization, 32 are lawyers (12%), 21 are doctors (8%), 26 are engineers (10%), 90 are teachers (34%), 41 are economists (15%), 11 are journalists (4 %) and 45 (17%) are from other sectors.
The meeting also considered a draft resolution on the accreditation of media representatives.
It should be noted that the Central Election Commission has always paid great attention to cooperation with the media, ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of participants in the electoral process. Accreditation of journalists in order to create more favorable conditions for them to carry out their activities during the elections continues.
Currently, the Central Election Commission is receiving applications from many media outlets for accreditation. To date, more than 700 media representatives have been accredited.
At the end of the meeting, the relevant decisions of the Central Election Commission were made on the issues included in the agenda.
On the same day, these political parties will be issued certificates of permission to participate in the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the required number of signature sheets. At the same time, the journalists who received the mandate were also issued certificates in the appropriate order.
