Today, on August 19, at the event held at the Central Election Commission, the chairmen of 14 district election commissions for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan were awarded certificates, seals and stationery of district election commissions for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by the leadership and members of the CEC, as well as representatives of the media.

According to Article 21 of the Electoral Code, the district election commission for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is formed by the Central Election Commission at least seventy days before the election and consists of a chairman, deputy chairman, secretary and eight to eighteen other commission members.

Candidates for membership in district election commissions for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Legislative Chamber shall be discussed at meetings of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city Kengashes of People's Deputies and recommended for approval by the Central Election Commission.
