At the invitation of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a delegation led by the Chairman of the Election Commission of India Sushil Chandra arrived in our country to observe the upcoming presidential elections.

On October 21 of this year, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Zayniddin Nizamkhodjayev met with the Chairman of the Election Commission of India Sushil Chandra. During the meeting, the guests were informed about the electoral system in Uzbekistan, the work being done to improve the electoral legislation.

It was noted that thorough preparation for the presidential elections, their holding on the basis of generally recognized international principles, directly depends on increasing the level of knowledge and skills of members of election commissions on national electoral legislation based on international electoral standards.

In this regard, trainings were held for election organizers in several stages with the participation of leading scientists in the field of electoral law, professors of domestic universities, and experienced specialists.

An important feature of the amendments made to the Electoral Code is that in order to ensure transparency in the use of election campaign funds by political parties, the publication of pre-election interim and post-election financial reports has been introduced, as well as the announcement of the results of the audit of the activities of the party by the Accounts Chamber.

At the meeting, the chairman of the electoral commission of India, Sushil Chandra, praised the work on improving the electoral legislation and the results achieved in Uzbekistan. He also dwelled on the establishment of cooperation between the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan and the Election Commission of India.
