Guy Olivier Faure, Honorary Professor of the Sorbonne University (France):

- I participated in the Presidential Elections in Uzbekistan 5 years ago as an observer. There are many differences between the past and the current election. The purpose of my mission is to get acquainted with the presidential candidates and their election programs. I met two candidates. In the previous election, there were four candidates, this time five candidates. They are much younger and even have a female candidate.

These changes have left a good impression on me, and it shows that democratic reforms in Uzbekistan are bearing fruit. Uzbekistan is on the right track. Building a democratic state takes some time, yet your country has made great strides in a short period of time. All reforms are being carried out step by step, and Uzbekistan is growing rapidly as one of the leading countries.
