On October 4, 2020, the elections of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic began.

More than 200 international observers are participating in the parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan, including about 30 international observers from the border regions of our country as part of the mission of the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Representatives of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan are also observing the election process as international observers.

According to the Information Department of the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic on Elections and Referenda, the total number of polling stations set up to vote in the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic is 2,475 of which 45 are located abroad.

The total number of registered voters in the Kyrgyz Republic is 3,523,554 of which 32,602 are registered abroad.

Of the total number of voters, 47.74% are men and 52.26% are women. The number of voters under the age of 30 is 29.67 percent.

16 political parties are participating in the elections. These parties nominated 1,957 candidates for the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic. Of these, 57 were deregistered on their application.

Thus, 1,912 candidates have been registered for the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic. 618 of the candidates are women.
