The agenda included the issues of taking measures to maintain public order and ensure public safety during the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan, accreditation of observers from foreign countries and international organizations in the elections of the President of Uzbekistan, as well as accreditation of media representatives.
Information was also heard from the chairmen of some district election commissions on the preparation and conduct of the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The members of the Commission first considered the issue of taking measures to maintain public order and ensure public safety during the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It was noted that the decree on measures to maintain public order and ensure public safety during the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan defines the tasks and responsibilities of responsible public safety officers during the election period.
In accordance with it, during the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard will ensure public order and security.
The responsible public security officer organizes his activities in cooperation with the election commissions, ensures the protection of the premises where the ballots and other documents are stored, from the moment of receipt of the ballots, as well as the transportation of documents with the election results, under the supervision of the members of the district and precinct election commissions.
At the same time, he must take measures to maintain public order and ensure public safety without violating the right of voters to vote by secret ballot, equality and freedom of expression, as well as the legitimate interests, rights and freedoms of participants in the electoral process.
The responsible public security officer at the elections is prohibited from influencing voters, observers and other participants in the electoral process, from being in a secret booth or voting room when a voter puts his mark on the ballot, distributing any campaign materials or literature, questioning voters how they voted , or provide any assistance when a voter puts a mark on the ballot to interfere with the activities of the election commission, including attending its meetings, when typing ballot boxes, opening them, counting votes.
The members of the Commission considered the issue of accreditation of observers from foreign countries and international organizations at the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
It was noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs submitted to the CEC submissions on the accreditation of 156 foreign (international) observers. For this reason, a draft resolution of the CEC has been developed on the accreditation of observers from foreign countries and international organizations in the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In accordance with this, a total of 156 international observers from Belgium, UAE, Great Britain, Germany, France, India, Czech Republic, Russia, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan were registered.
Thus, as of today, 380 observers from foreign countries and international organizations have been accredited for the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Central Election Commission submits mandates to international observers to carry out their activities during the preparation and conduct of elections within the time frame established by law.
The members of the Commission also considered the issue of accreditation of media representatives.
It was noted that the Central Election Commission received applications from 6 local media outlets. The meeting unanimously approved a draft resolution on the accreditation of media representatives, and 23 representatives of local media were accredited.
Currently, 1357 representatives of local media and 146 representatives of foreign media are accredited.
During the meeting, reports were heard from the chairmen of the 4-Jizzakh, 6-Namangan, 13-Kashkadarya and 14-Tashkent city constituencies on the preparations for the elections.
At the meeting, the members of the Commission unanimously adopted resolutions on the issues included in the agenda by open voting.
