THE GROUP OF OBSERVERS OF THE IPA CIS VISITED THE 14TH TASHKENT DISTRICT ELECTION COMMISSION

On October 8, 2021, international observers from the IPA CIS, headed by the Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council - Director of the International Institute for Monitoring the Development of Democracy, Parliamentarism and Observance of Electoral Rights of Citizens of the CIS Member States, Ivan Mushket, within the framework of long-term monitoring of the presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan, visited the district electoral commission No. 14 of the Tashkent city and polling station No. 24 of this district election commission.

 

During the meeting with the head of DEC No. 14 Odil Abdurakhmanov, the observers were informed that preparations for the voting are in full accordance with the "Calendar plan for the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan" adopted by the CEC of Uzbekistan on July 23, 2021.

There are 822 polling stations in the district. In connection with the transfer of a number of settlements of the Tashkent region to Tashkent in the spring of 2021, 25 new precinct election commissions were formed during the pre-election period, at which 58 thousand voters will be able to vote. Currently, the training of members of precinct election commissions has been completed, members of the district election commission are testing them.

As the observers noted, the monitoring showed that the timing of the preparation for the Presidential elections of the Republic of Uzbekistan is being observed, equipping and equipping the district and precinct election commissions with computers, software products, information materials is almost completely completed. Video surveillance will be carried out at 12 polling stations of DEC 14 on election day.

Members of precinct election commissions received training, including skills in working with electronic voter lists. Verification of voter lists will be completed by October 14, 2021, at present, precinct election commissions, with the help of volunteers, are checking information about registered voters using the door-to-door (door-to-door) round-trip method.
