Today, October 21, the chairman of the Central Election Commission Zayniddin Nizamkhjaev met with the Chairman of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev.

During the meeting, information was provided on the latest changes in the electoral legislation of Uzbekistan, the work carried out in the framework of the preparation and conduct of the presidential elections. It was noted that the election campaign is conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Election Code and democratic principles.

It should be noted that the CIS Executive Committee has extensive experience in organizing international observation, as well as a developed legal framework for observing elections.

At the invitation of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an observer mission from the CIS Executive Committee will monitor the preparation and conduct of the elections, which will be held on October 24. During its visit to Uzbekistan, the mission plans to visit a number of polling stations in the country and present its respective conclusions and recommendations for the elections.

During the meeting, Chairman of the Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary S. Lebedev wished success in holding democratic, free and transparent elections.
