Today on November 6, the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place at the joint session of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the opening of the meeting, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Z. Nizamkhodjaev noted that in compliance with the amendments to the Constitution and the Election Code of the state introduced in February this year, as well as in accordance with constitutional norms and international election standards, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was elected on the basis of periodicity in the first election which was held in October.

It was noted that approximately thousand observers from nearly fifty countries and about twenty international organizations took part in the electoral process.

In addition, 64,450 local observers from political parties took part in the election process.     

This important political process was widely and actively covered by 1,672 representatives of local and foreign media, online publications, which made a significant contribution to ensuring the openness and transparency of the election.

Out of 20 million registered voters in the election, more than 16 million, or 80,4 % cast their ballot papers expressing their free will.

Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev, a candidate from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen - Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, was elected President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with 80,12% of the vote.

Reviewing the election results at its meeting on October 29, 2021, the Central Election Commission decided to elect Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev as the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the ceremony, the Chairman of the Commission sincerely congratulated Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev on His election as the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Subsequently, the President Shavkat Miromonovich was awarded a certificate of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Article 65 of the Election Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan shall take an oath at a joint session of the Oliy Majlis.

In this regard, the newly elected President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev took the following oath: «I do solemnly swear to faithfully serve the people of Uzbekistan, to strictly follow the Constitution and laws of the Republic, to guarantee the rights and freedoms of its citizens, and to conscientiously exercise the duties vested to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan».

 

Shavkat Mirziyoyev:

Indeed, human dignity is not an abstract, lofty concept for us. When we say human dignity, we mean, first of all, the peaceful and secure life of every citizen, ensuring his fundamental rights and freedoms.

By human dignity, we mean the creation of decent living conditions and modern infrastructure for every citizen, the creation of qualified medical services, quality education, social protection, a healthy ecological environment».
