(Not an official translation. There may be differences with the original source) Today, August 30, a regular meeting of the Central Election Commission was held in the format of videoconferencing.

According to the agenda, issues on the status of the procedure for accreditation of representatives of the media, preparation and financing of the Referendum of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the issue of approving instructions on the procedure for using funds were considered.

At the meeting, it was noted that for the wide, prompt and free dissemination of reliable information by media representatives, including the conduct of their activities in the manner specified in the legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan, they need to be accredited. According to the regulation, from the date of publication of the decision to call the Referendum, the media, no later than ten days before the Referendum, can apply to the CEC for accreditation of their representatives.

Also, based on this issue during the meeting, they focused on the accreditation of representatives of local and foreign media, their rights and obligations.

According to the second item on the agenda of the meeting, the issue of approving instructions on the procedure for preparing and financing the holding of the Referendum of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the use of funds, was considered. According to which, the important tasks of preparing for the Referendum, planning and fulfilling the costs of holding it, keeping records of material assets in the process of holding the Referendum were discussed.
